In most cases these formats can only be played using certain proprietary browser plugins which are almost never consistent across various browsers and platforms. There are no easy or standardized methods for embedding these filetypes, and it is currently very difficult to ensure a smooth end-user experience when these types of media are involved. For all these reasons we do not have any standardized methods to deal with these file types and they must be handled on a case-by-case basis.
